Role overview

Join TRP Consult, which helps major media companies use data to make evidence-based strategic decisions.

Use respondent-level audience data to understand viewer behavior and advise clients.

Begin by owning project stages, with scope to manage and present whole projects as you settle into the role.

The employer will train the successful candidate on its data sources and methodologies.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze viewer flow across schedules, retention through breaks, and movement between viewer groups and networks.
  • Evaluate promo effectiveness and campaign performance.
  • Write and maintain queries using Access or similar tools to extract and check project data.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and identify fresh insights.
  • Help automate repeat tasks and investigate errors or anomalies in large datasets.
  • Present clear findings and recommendations in reports, charts, and presentations.
  • Own project stages, work toward managing complete projects, and contribute ideas for new work.
  • Support winning and delivering revenue from existing and new clients.

Required experience and skills

  • Around three years’ experience in media research, audience analytics, or a similar data role.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience querying large datasets using Access, SQL, or similar.
  • Client or stakeholder experience, including presenting findings, handling questions, and understanding data needs.
  • Strong analytical ability to spot patterns, anomalies, and underlying causes.
  • Strong data visualization and numeracy skills; clear written and verbal communication.
  • Good time management, workload prioritization, attention to detail, initiative, and adaptability.

Desirable experience

  • TV audience data experience, such as Nielsen or BARB, is desirable.
  • Reporting automation experience, such as VBA, Python, or Power BI, is desirable.
  • Commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approach to identifying client needs or market opportunities are desirable.

Pay

  • Salary is £32,000 full-time equivalent.

Location and work arrangement

  • The role is hybrid, with at least two days per week in the Taunton office.
  • Some or all other working time may be spent in the office; some activities require in-person attendance.

Employment and schedule

  • Permanent role, ideally full-time at 37.5 hours per week.
  • The employer would consider fewer hours spread across five days.
  • Planned start date is January 2027.

Benefits and development

  • Eligible employees can participate in an annual profit-share bonus scheme.
  • An in-house development scheme offers tailored career development and progression.
  • Holiday entitlement is 22.5 days plus UK bank holidays, increasing to a maximum of 27.5 days with service; holiday flexibility and purchase of up to 10 extra days are offered.
  • New parents receive six weeks of paid leave at 70% of average weekly salary, in addition to statutory family leave.
