Part-time, on-site Mechatronics Engineer role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Designs, prototypes, and maintains mechatronic systems for interactive installations and experiential projects.
Responsibilities
- Integrate mechanical components, electronics, and control systems; assemble and wire hardware and configure sensors and actuators.
- Troubleshoot failures and perform preventive maintenance to keep systems reliable over extended periods.
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and producers to create robust, safe, and serviceable physical experiences.
- Document builds, write maintenance procedures, and support on-site setup, testing, and optimization.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong integration skills across mechanical, electrical, and control components, plus electrical and electronics knowledge.
- Experience with sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and PLCs is beneficial.
- Read technical schematics, use standard workshop tools, and apply electrical and mechanical safety standards.
- Prototyping for installations, robotics, or automation is an advantage.
- Problem-solving, attention to detail, hands-on collaboration, and on-site work are essential.
- A relevant diploma or degree, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
