Role Description
This is a full-time Mechanical Technician role based in Abu Dhabi in a hybrid arrangement, combining on-site work with some work-from-home flexibility as business needs allow.
The Mechanical Technician will support installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of oil field equipment and mechanical separation systems, following technical drawings, manuals, and safety procedures.
Daily activities include inspecting equipment, performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and coordinating corrective actions to minimize downtime.
The role involves assisting with commissioning, testing, and calibration of mechanical systems, documenting maintenance activities, and reporting findings to supervisors and engineers.
The Mechanical Technician will also collaborate with operations, engineering, and HSE teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient field and workshop operations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in equipment maintenance and general maintenance activities, with the ability to follow technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, including scheduling, inspection, and servicing of mechanical systems to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance & repair skills for pumps, valves, rotating equipment, and separation systems or similar industrial machinery.
- Background in oil and gas, energy, or heavy industrial environments is highly preferred, especially with separation technology or oil field equipment.
- Technical diploma, vocational certificate, or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals, with good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety, familiarity with industrial HSE standards, and readiness to use appropriate PPE and follow site safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting and use of CMMS or similar systems, plus effective communication and teamwork abilities in a diverse work environment.
