Mechanical Inspector - (Site)

Role overview

Inspection and project duties

• Inspect mechanical systems and related components for compliance with UAE construction regulations and international standards.
• Write detailed inspection reports, analyze findings, and recommend corrective actions with supporting evidence.
• Supervise contractors and installation teams, checking work quality, project specifications, and progress.
• Verify system functionality through testing and commissioning and document results and certifications.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to resolve issues; maintain inspection, test, and compliance records.
• Identify hazards and non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Mentor junior inspectors and site personnel; monitor equipment performance and recommend maintenance or replacement.
• Manage multiple inspections and communicate findings clearly; ensure contractual and quality requirements are met throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, construction supervision, or a related construction field.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components; UAE construction codes, building regulations, and international standards.
• Proficiency in technical documentation, blueprint reading, CAD software, inspection software, digital documentation, and data management tools.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills and knowledge of compliance audits and quality assurance procedures.

Work arrangement

• The role is site-based and includes in-person onboarding at an AECOM office as a condition of employment.
