Role overview

Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect mechanical works for compliance with PPPA, stipulated standards, QCS, and international standards.
• Attend progress and technical meetings with the Authority and Project Company.
• Check mechanical equipment and executed works; assist with as-built drawing reviews and conduct material inspections and site acceptance tests.
• Respond to contractor inspection requests and recommend or take appropriate action.
• Conduct site inspections when requested by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Review shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications; ensure local code, statutory, and international best-practice compliance.
• Monitor work and assess HSE and environmental issues against contract specifications, HSE requirements, and risk assessments.
• Implement site quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain accessible reports on site activities, including progress reports.
• Coordinate across disciplines and provide technical assistance to resolve mechanical issues.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, subject to the Engineer’s approval.
• Experience supervising installation of mechanical equipment on similar-sized pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects.
• Good knowledge of local materials standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Operate ethically and with integrity, prioritizing safety and security; prioritize effectively, maintain focus and accountability, communicate clearly, and drive execution and results.
