We are seeking a skilled
Mechanical Engineer
to join our SMP2 Maintenance team, supporting critical steel plant operations including
EAF, LF, CCM, FTP, and auxiliary systems
.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on mechanical engineering support for maintenance, troubleshooting, and shutdown activities
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of plant equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance
- Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence
- Review and validate Scope of Work (SOW), ensuring technical accuracy, safety compliance, and execution readiness
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including Work Instructions (WI), Job Method Statements (JMS), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Support reverse engineering of components and development of technical drawings/specifications
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, electrical, and reliability departments
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards, including PTW and LOTO systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–5 years of experience in steel plant or heavy industrial maintenance
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as EAF, LF, CCM, hydraulics, pumps, fans, and gearboxes
- Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and failure analysis
- Familiarity with RCA, condition monitoring, and reliability improvement practices is an advantage
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
