A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be a key player in the Mechanical engineering team, focusing on the design, analysis, and manufacturing support for various hardware of Oil and Gas industry i.e. turbomachinery.

You will work collaboratively with various departments to execute Fields of Action (FoA) co-creation projects, contributing to the development of a competitive portfolio and leading the energy transition.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Evaluate and select advanced materials aligned with industry standards, including High-performance alloys and superalloys, ceramics and ceramic matrix composites (CMCs), polymer and fiber-reinforced composites, emerging materials such as nanocomposites (e.g., graphene-based systems)
  • Define and develop coating system architectures, including multi-layer Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) and related high-temperature protective systems.
  • Investigate, qualify, and implement advanced and existing materials for demanding environments, particularly high-temperature applications.
  • Address material-related challenges, including material substitutions and obsolescence
  • Manufacturing quality notifications and failure root-cause analysis
  • Lead and design material testing campaigns, including High-temperature tensile properties, creep and creep-rupture behavior, low-cycle and thermo-mechanical fatigue. Interpret and correlate experimental results to derive actionable engineering insights.
  • Develop and apply approaches that couple simulation with experimental validation, ensuring robust and predictive material behavior understanding. Utilize computational tools (e.g., finite element methods, multi-physics simulations, or ICME approaches) to support material selection and performance prediction. Collect, analyze, and evaluate material data using established and advanced methodologies.
  • Contribute actively to cross-functional engineering teams supporting technology development and product innovation. Provide expertise in mechanical design and material integration, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Support system-level decision-making through material selection, trade-offs, and performance evaluation.
  • Foster strong collaboration within teams and across global engineering and innovation centers. Promote knowledge sharing and integration across material domains (metals, ceramics, composites). Work closely with design, manufacturing, and R&D teams to accelerate innovation and implementation.

What You Bring

  • University degree in Mechanical engineering or a related field (Master/Bachelor/Diploma) or comparable qualification with 8+ years of work experience in the field of Mechanical Design and Development, with a strong focus on material selection.
  • Know-how of Mechanical design. Proficiency in specifying and implementing different materials based on application.
  • Proven track record of co-creation with customers or similar collaborative projects will be preferred.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a focus on achieving results that benefit the company and the Innovation Center.
