Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical, public health, and fire life safety systems from inception through detailed design, including CHW, HVAC, fire suppression, and drainage.
• Ensure drawings and specifications comply with local regulations, relevant standards, and client requirements.
• Provide technical input to BIM teams preparing coordinated drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Review design drawings and calculations; raise and follow up on RFIs for clarifications.
• Present designs and coordinate changes arising from site conditions or MEP interfaces.
• Ensure calculations and drawings meet industry and legal standards; coordinate engineering services and select suitable solutions.
• Provide value engineering and liaise with estimation teams during tender phases.

Skills and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of relevant construction-project experience.
• Strong knowledge of CHW, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit for coordination and MTO review.
• Communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Data centre or mission-critical experience is highly advantageous; familiarity with Middle East codes and standards is an advantage.
