Role overview
Full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Doha, Qatar.
Designs, reviews, and optimizes mechanical systems and components for construction and infrastructure projects.
Engineering and project delivery
- Prepare and update CAD models and technical drawings; conduct calculations and simulations.
- Coordinate with project managers and other engineering disciplines.
- Support procurement and installation activities and visit sites to monitor installation and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure compliance with local regulations, safety guidelines, and company standards.
- Contribute to R&D initiatives, prepare technical documentation, and support continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical engineering foundation, including mechanical systems, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in machine design and CAD, including detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and design revisions.
- Project management experience covering planning, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and deliverable tracking.
- R&D background, including investigating technologies, improving designs, and documenting findings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; an advanced degree is an advantage.
- Knowledge of construction and infrastructure workflows, relevant codes and standards, and safety practices in Qatar or the GCC.
- Communication, teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities; attention to detail and quality.
- Professional engineering certification or membership in a recognized engineering body is a plus.
