Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated

Mechanical Draftsman

to join our Doha office.

The ideal candidate will support the mechanical engineering team in producing accurate drawings and technical documentation for mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.

The role requires strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and coordination with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed mechanical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Develop shop drawings, coordinated drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to translate design concepts into technical drawings.
  • Use CAD/BIM software such as AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and modeling tasks.
  • Update drawings based on engineer comments, client feedback, and site conditions.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, authority standards, and design guidelines.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other discipline draftsmen to ensure proper integration.
  • Maintain proper documentation and revision control of all drawings.
  • Assist in preparing drawing submissions for approval and tender documentation.
  • Support site teams by providing updated drawings and technical clarifications when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting Technology.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman in an engineering consultancy.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; Revit/BIM knowledge is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with international standards and Qatar construction practices is preferred.
  • Currently based in Qatar or willing to relocate.
