Role
Full-time, on-site Mechanical Drafter role in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, supporting GRP water storage projects.
The drafter creates and updates mechanical, technical, and engineering drawings, working with design engineers to accurately represent systems and components.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate method statements, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Handle and resolve technical inquiries from clients.
- Coordinate with operations teams to plan and execute projects based on site conditions.
- Develop installation manuals aligned with part lists and project specifications.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to create and refine new product drawings.
- Interpret client-provided plumbing drawings and prepare detailed steel cutting lists.
- Apply reverse engineering techniques when required.
Qualifications
- Requires 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
- Requires at least a Technical Diploma in Mechanical Drafting; a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Requires fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi.
- Requires proficiency in mechanical, technical, and engineering drawings; expertise in AutoCAD 2D and 3D, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Requires design engineering experience, including basic knowledge of structural and mechanical systems.
- Requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate with engineering teams.
- Water storage or manufacturing experience is a plus; familiarity with international engineering and safety standards is preferred.
- Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are advantageous additional skills.
