About This Role
Overview
- Develop mechanical designs including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting
- systems, based on project specifications and applicable codes.
- Perform load calculations using design software (HAP or equivalent) and determine
- equipment capacities and duct/piping sizes.
- Identify design and constructability issues and raise RFIs.
- Prepare design drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams for all mechanical
- systems in coordination with architectural and structural layouts.
- Review design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project and
- authority standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, CIBSE).
- Select and specify HVAC and plumbing equipment, including chillers, FAHUs, AHUs,
- FCUs, pumps, valves, and control devices.
- Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and other disciplines (electrical, civil, architectural)
- to resolve technical issues and ensure proper integration of services.
- Prepare shop drawings to ensure compliance with approved design intent and authority
requirements

- Liaise with local authorities (QCDD & Kahramaa, etc.) for design approvals, NOCs,
- and compliance verification.
- Able to identify the Value Engineering & cost saving opportunities.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and ensure mechanical services are properly
- routed and clash-free.
- Support the QA/QC team in reviewing inspection and testing procedures from a design
- compliance perspective.
- Ensure all designs are properly documented, updated, and controlled according to ISO
- quality procedures.
- Prepare as-built documentation and final design reports for project handover.
- Assist in commissioning plan preparation and system performance validation as per
- design criteria.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authority regulations, energy efficiency requirements,
- and new design technologies.
