Role overview
Design mechanical systems for projects in accordance with approved engineering codes, standards, and project requirements.
Perform engineering calculations, select equipment, and ensure designs meet applicable international standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical designs for projects according to approved engineering standards.
- Perform preliminary and detailed calculations for HVAC, fire-fighting, plumbing, and drainage systems.
- Calculate cooling loads, select equipment, and design duct sizing and piping networks.
- Prepare execution drawings and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Review and approve mechanical materials and equipment.
- Apply standards including ASHRAE, NFPA, and IPC / UPC.
- Use specialized engineering software for design and modeling.
- Coordinate with project teams and consultants to ensure design quality.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical design for engineering projects.
- Experience with engineering consulting firms is preferred.
- Experience with real-estate development or commercial projects is preferred.
