Mechanical Application & Pre-Sales Engineer – HVAC Solutions

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Review inquiries, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tenders; collect and verify project and site information before equipment selection.
• Perform HVAC calculations and select equipment for project conditions; prepare dehumidification selections for pool, commercial, industrial, and low-humidity applications.
• Prepare proposals, schedules, compliance statements, BOQs, and submittals; interpret psychrometric charts and evaluate operating conditions.
• Assess real-world equipment performance, prepare product comparisons and value-engineering alternatives, and conduct technical client presentations.
• Support sales meetings, site visits, tender clarification, negotiations, and project follow-up; coordinate technical and commercial details with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Prepare basic HVAC layouts and AutoCAD drawings, maintain project records, and provide support during installation, testing, commissioning, and after-sales when required.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of relevant HVAC application engineering, pre-sales, design, technical-office, or equipment-selection experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, psychrometrics, airflow, heat transfer, equipment performance, and practical HVAC calculations and equipment selection.
• Experience preparing technical submittals, compliance sheets, equipment schedules, BOQs, and technical-commercial proposals.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Carrier HAP or similar HVAC calculation software.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical clients, commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.
• Professional English communication is required; Arabic is highly preferred.

Preferred qualifications

• UAE or GCC experience; experience with dehumidification, indoor swimming pools, industrial humidity control, or desiccant dehumidifiers.
• Knowledge of heat pumps, water-heating systems, humidification, or other specialized HVAC products; experience with Revit MEP is advantageous.
• Experience with MEP contractors, consultants, developers, hotels, swimming pools, industrial facilities, or facility-management companies; a valid UAE driving licence is preferred.
