Mechanic

Overview

• Maintain and updates marine vehicles record system of the resort./p>
• Supervises all repairs and maintenance of all systems and related equipment in a water base vehicle, such as but not limited to speedboat, dive boats, barge, whalers, rowing boat, pontoon boats, dhonis, etc./li>
• Attends to repair and maintenance of land based vehicle, such as golf cart, buggy, etc. when requested./li>
• Records all service & repair done for boats, vehicles and equipment & keeps log of spare parts used, ensuring proper operation of equipment./li>
• Attends to repair and maintenance of power house generators if requested./li>
• Attends to machinery maintenance requests when instructed to do so./li>
• Carry out Preventive Maintenance program./li>
• Carry out electric arc welding and oxy-acetylene welding if capable & is needed./li>
• Carry out minor fabrication work and metal work when required./li>
• Advices improvements to the present system in order to optimize the operating efficiency and economy of the said system./li>
• Ensure execution of Preventive Maintenance programs./li>
• Ensures implementation of Anantara policies, standards and procedures in relation to Engineering./li>
• Ensure execution of Maintenance Requests and give feedback to requesting department when job is done./li>
• Assist in the daily scheduling & weekly forecasting of all marine maintenance work./li>
• Participates in conducting Fire Prevention Training Programs./li>
• Supports and initiates programs for the improvement in procedures and the reduction of engineering costs./li>
• Maintain records of all-important information pertaining to operation of marine vehicles and Engineering staff on assigned duty./li>
• To ensure that the engineering services comply with established standard and quality./li>
• Ensure that pending work from is discussed in morning briefing./li>
• Determine cleanliness by inspection of engineering areas, marine workshop, to ensure that all the areas are clean and tidy at all time./li>
• Assist storekeeper to organize accurate ordering of spare parts./li>
• Supervise hands-on and co-ordinate to all engineering staff on their behalf if required./li>
• To co-ordinate with Assistant Chief Engineer to follow up daily work if required./li>
• Participates with Chief Engineer in review and makes recommendation on the annual Engineering budget./li>
• Ensure safety at work for all engineering staff./li>
• Attends to all types of repair and maintenance work in the resort premises including new additional/extensions to the resort or any other properties maintained by ANANTARA./li>
• To perform shift duties when assigned by Supervisor /Ass. Chief Engineer./li>
• Carry out and log marine meter reading on daily basis and reports any discrepancies noticed to the supervisor./li>
• Ensure that issued hand tools are kept in proper working order/li>
• Records daily work activity on the daily work summary./li>
• When assigned with duty phone, to respond to requests appropriately./li>
• Attend the engineering daily morning briefing./p>
• Attends meeting or training sessions as required by management./li>
• Complies with ANANTARA Safety, Fire and Hygiene Policy and Procedures./li>
• Complies with Departmental Standards and Procedure (SOP)./li>
• Participates with ANANTARA Environmental Program./li>
• Participates with the resort s energy conservation program./li>
• Does all jobs or tasks assigned by supervisor or managers regarding engineering work/li>
• Interacts cooperates with others in the Engineering Department./li>
• Interacts and cooperates with resort contractors as directed/li>
• Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities./li>
• Acts as Fire Brigade Team Member when assigned./li>
