Material Inspector

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect delivered construction materials and verify compliance with approved material submittals and project specifications.
• Inspect materials for bridges, roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities, concrete, and other infrastructure works.
• Review material certificates, test reports, manufacturer data sheets, and quality documentation.
• Verify material type, grade, dimensions, quantities, and condition upon delivery.
• Inspect aggregates, concrete, reinforcement steel, structural materials, asphalt, road base, subbase, fill materials, pipes, precast elements, and other infrastructure materials.
• Monitor material storage, handling, protection, and identification at site.
• Witness and coordinate material testing per approved ITPs and project requirements.
• Review laboratory test results and verify compliance with project specifications.
• Inspect and verify material samples prior to approval and use.
• Monitor use of approved materials and identify unapproved or non-conforming materials.
• Coordinate with Contractor, laboratory, inspectors, and engineers on material inspections and testing.
• Raise and follow up on material-related NCRs and non-conformance issues.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience as a Material Inspector on major infrastructure and bridge projects.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Experience with concrete, reinforcement steel, aggregates, asphalt, earthworks, road materials, pipes, precast elements, and other infrastructure materials.
• Ability to review material submittals, certificates, test reports, and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of material inspection and quality control procedures.
• UAE experience on major infrastructure projects is preferred.

Work Location

• Work Location Model: On-Site.
• All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
