Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai for a Master Tailor Cum Pattern Maker.
The role involves drafting, developing, and adjusting patterns from design sketches, measurements, and technical specifications, ensuring accurate fit and proportion for each garment.
The Master Tailor Cum Pattern Maker will cut fabrics, construct samples, and execute high-quality dressmaking and tailoring for production and bespoke pieces.
Daily tasks include fittings with clients or fit models, making precise alterations, and collaborating closely with the design team to translate conceptual ideas into wearable, well-constructed garments.
The role also includes maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, managing timelines for sample and production completion, and supporting quality control on finished pieces.
Qualifications
- Strong dressmaking and tailoring skills, with proven experience in constructing high-quality garments from pattern to finish.
- Expertise in fittings and alterations, including taking accurate measurements, achieving precise fit, and adjusting patterns as needed.
- Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, team members, and suppliers.
- Ability to interpret and develop patterns from sketches or technical drawings, with strong attention to detail and garment construction techniques.
- Experience working with diverse fabrics, including delicate and structured materials, and familiarity with industrial and domestic sewing equipment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Previous experience in high-end, RTW, or boutique fashion is preferred; pattern-making or tailoring certifications or formal training are an advantage.
- Commitment to quality, sustainability, and continuous skill development, with openness to feedback and collaboration.
