About This Role
The Master Painter is responsible for overseeing and executing high-quality painting and finishing work across various projects. This role requires advanced technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team to ensure all work meets company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Interpret project specifications, drawings, and color schemes.
- Ensure all painting work is completed to a high standard with smooth and even finishes.
- Supervise and guide junior painters and helpers on-site.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
- Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors and textures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Estimate material requirements and report shortages or damages.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a painter, with several years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
