Role overview
The role maintains high-quality master data, improves data-management processes, and supports consistent business information across the organization.
Work covers data governance, data quality, analysis, process improvement, and collaboration to keep data accurate, complete, consistent, secure, and fit for use.
Data operations and quality
- Manage, create, update, validate, and maintain records across business systems and enterprise applications, including customer, supplier, product, material, employee, and financial data.
- Review record requests and perform data validation, cleansing, standardization, enrichment, and deduplication.
- Identify inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, inconsistent, or outdated data; investigate issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Establish quality rules, validation checks, monitoring, metrics, reports, and root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
Governance, systems, and projects
- Maintain data dictionaries, business definitions, metadata, reference data, procedures, workflows, controls, and operating standards.
- Work with business users, IT, and application teams on requirements, data issues, configuration, integration, and system changes.
- Support ERP, CRM, supply-chain, finance, procurement, and other enterprise systems that rely on master data.
- Support migration, implementation, consolidation, and transformation projects, including data mapping, reconciliation, and change-impact analysis.
- Develop reports and dashboards, automate repetitive tasks, and recommend process improvements to reduce manual errors.
- Manage requests within agreed service levels, support audits, train business users, protect confidential information, and participate in governance and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in master data management, data analysis, data quality, data governance, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of master-data concepts, data lifecycles, data quality, governance, and enterprise business data across ERP, CRM, or similar systems.
- Strong data validation, cleansing, standardization, and reconciliation skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with large datasets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, detail, communication, stakeholder-management, organization, and time-management skills.
- Understanding of data privacy, access controls, confidentiality, and information security.
Preferred tools and experience
- SQL and database concepts are advantageous; Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools are beneficial.
- SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent ERP experience is preferred; CRM and enterprise application data-structure familiarity is advantageous.
- Data migration, integration, implementation, data-quality tools, master-data platforms, and governance solutions are beneficial or advantageous.
