Job Objective
To coordinate and manage maritime shipping and ship brokerage operations efficiently, ensuring the smooth movement of cargo and vessels, while providing logistics services in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards to achieve customer satisfaction and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor maritime import and export shipping operations.
- Communicate with shipping lines, maritime agents, and customers to facilitate shipping activities.
- Prepare and review shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, and invoices.
- Manage vessel and container bookings and ensure adherence to shipping schedules.
- Provide ship brokerage services between ship owners, charterers, and clients.
- Coordinate vessel arrival and departure procedures with ports and relevant authorities.
- Negotiate freight rates and maritime service agreements to achieve the best value for clients.
- Monitor customs clearance procedures and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Prepare operational reports related to cargo movements and vessel activities.
- Resolve operational issues, delays, and shipping discrepancies while implementing corrective actions.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with shipping companies, maritime agents, and port authorities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international maritime regulations and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Maritime Transport, International Trade, or a related field.
- Proven experience in maritime shipping and/or ship brokerage operations.
- Strong knowledge of port operations, customs regulations, and shipping documentation.
- Experience in vessel chartering and freight negotiations.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing maritime contracts and agreements.
- Sound understanding of maritime navigation and shipping operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage and monitor logistics and shipping operations effectively.
- Strong knowledge of maritime shipping systems and supply chain management.
- Reporting and operational data analysis skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
