Role Overview
Join an advanced propulsion engineering team designing, developing, and manufacturing high-performance rocket motors and energetic systems.
The role sits in Operations and focuses on solving manufacturing issues, improving methods, and driving continuous improvement.
Compensation
- Salary is £40,000 to £50,000 per year, plus excellent benefits.
Workplace
- This is an onsite role in Kidderminster.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing methods, processes, and instructions that meet safety, quality, and productivity requirements.
- Implement machine and tooling modifications to optimise output.
- Deliver capital projects from concept to introduction.
- Resolve production bottlenecks and issues.
- Design basic jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and tooling when necessary.
- Provide technical support, guidance, and training.
- Create standard operating procedures and process-control documents.
- Ensure safety and legal requirements are met.
- Maintain records, define and monitor KPIs, and implement cost-reduction improvements.
- Work with Quality to verify quality-control systems.
Essential Experience
- Have manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Have experience with lean tools including value stream mapping, 6S, Kanban, Kaizen, MRL, PFMEA, and SPC.
- Have manufacturing engineering experience in an ISO 9001 environment.
- Have project-delivery, problem-solving, and health and safety culture experience.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with EN9100, AS9100, ISO 14001, or ISO 18001 is advantageous.
- Defence industry experience is advantageous.
- Experience with quality tools and APQP techniques is advantageous.
