Manufacturing Applications Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Own the lifecycle of manufacturing applications and OT systems: requirements, delivery, sustainment, and continuous improvement. Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to identify high-value enhancements, define scope, and prioritize work. Support system integration across OT platforms (automation interfaces, historians, databases, reporting/analytics, and application-to-application interfaces). Improve system reliability through disciplined incident/problem management, root-cause analysis, and prevention of repeat failures. Coordinate vendors and internal teams through implementation, testing, commissioning support, and stabilization. Maintain strong operational practices: change management, documentation, standards, backup/restore readiness, and cybersecurity alignment. Contribute to team capability building through knowledge sharing and mentoring. Desired Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Physics, Computer, or related). Demonstrated experience supporting or leading work in an industrial/manufacturing environment with OT systems and plant-critical applications. Strong troubleshooting skills: structured problem investigation, risk assessment, and practical mitigation. Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Technical familiarity with manufacturing/OT environments (e.g., industrial automation concepts, data collection, historians, databases, interfaces). A solid foundation in software development is needed to be effective in this role, although advanced development is not the primary focus (e.g., scripting, SQL, configuration, basic coding).
