Manual QA Tester Intern

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and execute test cases and scenarios for assigned features under senior QA guidance.
• Perform functional, regression, sanity, and exploratory testing on product features.
• Log defects in a tracking tool with reproduction steps, expected versus actual behavior, and screenshots or recordings.
• Gain hands-on exposure to basic API testing with Postman and learn basic SQL queries for validating data.
• Follow the Bug Life Cycle for defect reporting, tracking, and closure.
• Own end-to-end test coverage for at least one feature or module during the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–1 years of professional experience; internships, coursework, and self-driven testing exercises count.
• At least one demonstrable example of hands-on testing is required, such as a tested college project, structured personal exercise, or bug report on a real application.

Skills

• Understanding of manual functional, regression, sanity, and exploratory testing concepts, and basic SDLC and STLC.
• Ability to write a clear, reproducible bug report; strong attention to detail and methodical thinking; clear written and verbal communication.
• Some bug-tracking tool exposure, such as Jira or Zoho, or willingness to learn quickly; basic SQL knowledge or willingness to build it during the internship.

Additional skills

• Nice to have: exposure to Postman or another REST API testing tool, basic performance or security testing concepts, or Agile ceremonies.

Compensation

• The posting lists ₹120,000–₹180,000 per year.
