Focuses on enhancing high-performance athletes' holistic wellbeing, personal development, and career readiness.
This role addresses athletes' mental, emotional, and lifestyle needs, ensuring they have the support necessary to thrive both in and beyond their sports careers.
By building strategic partnerships, providing personalized guidance, and embedding wellbeing within performance plans, the Manager fosters a balanced, supportive athlete culture that aligns with organizational goals and promotes sustained success.
Athlete Wellbeing and Development Support
- Contribute the development and delivery of programs that address athletes' mental, emotional, and lifestyle needs, supporting overall wellbeing as essential to athletic success.
- Provide guidance and resources to support athletes in their education, career pathways, and personal growth, fostering well-rounded development outside of sports.
- Embed wellbeing objectives within each athlete's individual performance plan to promote balanced, sustainable growth and resilience.
- Contribute constructively to interdisciplinary athlete case discussions by sharing relevant information and insights effectively
Career Transition and Post-Sport Planning
- Guide athletes in preparing for life beyond sport, developing tailored transition plans that consider career, education, and personal development goals.
- Liaise with external partners to secure work experience placements and career programs, aiding athletes in building professional skills for future transitions.
Educational Partnerships and Engagement
- Build constructive relationships with educational institutions to provide elite athletes with accessible academic opportunities, ensuring a balanced approach to both sports and studies.
- Support athletes’ academic and personal growth by facilitating access to educational resources, mentoring, and engagement with higher education institutions.
Industry Knowledge and Advocacy
- Stay updated on current social issues, athlete mental health, and trends impacting elite athletes, integrating this knowledge into wellbeing and lifestyle initiatives.
- Actively advocate for athlete wellbeing as a core organizational priority, ensuring it remains integral to performance and support strategies within a high-performance environment.
Program Monitoring and Reporting
- Regularly review and report on athlete well-being metrics, with the support of Athlete’s Insights & Analytics, generating insights that inform adjustments to support plans and ensure sustained athlete performance.
- Actively participate in cross-functional initiatives within SOTC, ensuring that athlete well-being remains integral to the center's performance objectives.
