Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing transportation or delivery operations within a distribution center or warehouse.
  • Knowledge of fleet management, route optimization, and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Job Summary
  • Leads all transportation and delivery operations within a distribution center, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products. Oversees delivery teams, fleet operations, routing, and performance management while driving operational excellence and compliance with internal policies, safety standards, and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Leads delivery operations, including route planning, dispatching, and daily performance monitoring.
  • Manages staffing, labor planning, and KPI tracking to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery operations.
  • Oversees fleet maintenance, vehicle inspections, asset management, and compliance with safety and regulatory vehicle inspection requirements.
  • Develops and coaches delivery teams through training, ride-alongs, and performance management.
  • Monitors driver safety programs, incident reviews, and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Resolves operational issues, process exceptions, and customer delivery concerns.
  • Supports project initiatives, including capacity management, market optimization, and system troubleshooting.
  • Communicates performance feedback, engagement actions, and recognition programs to drivers and leadership.

  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
  • Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
