The experienced Data Analytics Engineer will help build the tax data operations function for Wolt and Deliveroo legal entities.
The role builds and operates data pipelines and infrastructure supporting tax analytics and company decision-making.
The role reports to the Senior Manager of Tax Data & Operations and owns data ingestion, transformation, controls, accuracy, and availability for users.
What you will do
- Collect tax data and reporting requirements with Tax team counterparts.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and develop data models and warehouse structures.
- Assess the impact of new business initiatives on existing data systems and processes.
- Partner with Analytics, Data Science, and business teams to develop and validate data sources.
- Document business, functional, and technical requirements for new initiatives and system improvements.
- Use AI-assisted tools to automate recurring data tasks and pipelines.
- Monitor data quality, reliability, and observability and resolve data issues.
- Help define data tooling needs, maintain existing systems, and document systems and processes.
- Share engineering and analytics knowledge and best practices across the team.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in tax data and technology or a similar role.
- Experience with dbt or a similar data-flow management product and with Claude, Cursor, or similar AI tools.
- Expert SQL skills, Snowflake experience, and proficiency in Python or a comparable pipeline language.
- Experience with modern data stack and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and independent project management skills.
- Project management experience, including plans, milestones, and due dates.
- A degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
