Reports to the Senior Manager of Tax Data & Operations and leads design, implementation and operation of data pipelines and processes.
What you’ll do
- Gather Tax data and reporting requirements through close relationships with Tax counterparts.
- Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable ETL/ELT pipelines serving data across the company.
- Develop and optimize data models and warehouse structures for analytics and reporting.
- Assess new business initiatives and their impact on existing data systems and processes.
- Work with Analytics, Data Science and business partners to develop and validate data sources.
- Document requirements for new initiatives and improvements to existing functionality.
- Use AI-assisted tools to automate recurring data tasks and pipelines.
- Monitor data quality, reliability and observability, resolve data issues, and maintain data systems.
- Document systems and processes, define tooling needs, and share best practices with engineers and analysts.
Experience and qualifications
- Seven or more years in tax data and technology or a similar role.
- Experience with dbt or a similar data flow management product, and Claude, Cursor or similar AI tools.
- Expert SQL skills and Snowflake experience; proficiency in Python or a comparable language for data pipelines.
- Experience with modern data stacks and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Spark or Kafka.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and project management experience, including plans, milestones and due dates.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
