  • Lead scalable, reliable, secure software design and implementation; drive design reviews, code quality, operational readiness, and engineering practices.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Compliance, and Operations; lead incidents, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

AI and people leadership

  • Set strategy for AI-assisted and agentic engineering across the software development lifecycle; use AI to improve delivery, testing, support, documentation, and developer productivity.
  • Identify workflow automation opportunities and establish responsible AI guardrails for security, transparency, and human oversight.
  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage a high-performing engineering team; support career development and recruiting.
  • Plan team roadmaps, priorities, delivery commitments, goals, expectations, and ownership.

Required qualifications

  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams and delivering large-scale enterprise software.
  • Strong technical background designing distributed, highly available systems and ability to balance hands-on technical leadership with people management.
  • Experience managing product roadmaps, business priorities, engineering deliverables, and technical risks.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills; Agile development and modern engineering practices experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Payments, financial services, compliance, fraud, sanctions screening, or risk management experience is a bonus.
  • AI-assisted development, agentic workflows, intelligent automation, or regulated and security-sensitive service experience is preferred.
  • Cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and observability tooling knowledge are preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Compensation

  • For a role performed in Canada, the successful candidate may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program.
  • Vancouver pay range listed as CAD 127,000–203,000; the posting does not specify a pay cadence.
