Purpose and team

Mastercard describes its purpose as powering economies and empowering people, supporting digital payments and secure, accessible transactions.

Merchant Cloud Gateway Core Processing shapes regional strategy and execution for acceptance products that support customer growth, operational efficiency, and evolving market needs.

Role overview

The manager advances the Gateway Core Processing portfolio across domestic and international payment rails, alternative payment rails, card-present capabilities, scheme compliance, and other strategic areas.

The role translates market needs into commercially relevant, scalable solutions in coordination with global and regional product leaders, market teams, and functional partners.

Product direction and delivery

  • Own and prioritize roadmaps and delivery for assigned focus areas, aligned with EEMEA and global strategy, customer demand, commercial opportunity, and delivery readiness.
  • Research customer needs and market opportunities, including through interviews, and turn insights into product direction and requirements.
  • Align business priorities, customer outcomes, product requirements, and technology delivery; oversee technical and business requirements.
  • Drive go-to-market planning, commercialization, and adoption of product capabilities.
  • Connect internal teams and external stakeholders to build, launch, and scale products.

Experience and qualifications

  • Proven agile product management experience; payments, financial services, technology, or a related discipline is ideal.
  • Strong understanding of payment products, gateway services, processing platforms, or fintech solutions is preferred.
  • Experience in user research, market and competitive awareness, cross-functional collaboration, and customer-focused product decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage priorities and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of market assessments, product plans, roadmaps, business cases, pricing inputs, timelines, and research outputs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A technical background is advantageous; an advanced degree or relevant professional certification is preferred but not required.

Security responsibilities

  • Follow Mastercard security policies, protect the confidentiality and integrity of accessed information, report suspected security violations or breaches, and complete mandatory periodic security training.
