What You'Ll Do

  • Develop and implement material planning strategies
  • Ensure accurate forecasting of spare parts and consumables demand
  • Establish and monitor stock levels and establish reorder points
  • Manage critical and urgent material requirements
  • Lead procurement activities
  • Ensure continued coordination with Lufthansa Technik's Purchasing Alliance
  • Build strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, suppliers and repair vendors
  • Negotiate agreements and consignment programs
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulatory standards and all applicable export control regulations
  • Manage and develop a team of material planners and procurement specialists
  • Implement KPIs for material availability, procurement cycle time, cost savings, and supplier performance
  • Drive digitalization and automation of planning and procurement processes
  • Develop contingency plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and traceability for all materials
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits
  • Maintain proper classification, licensing, and documentation of controlled items

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Aviation (preferred), or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in the aviation industry
  • Proven background in aviation
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural differences
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
