Learn more about Engineering, AI and Data Your work profile The GCP data engineer is responsible for managing client relationships and overseeing the successful delivery of programs or accounts. This role serves as the primary point of contact between the organization and its clients, ensuring alignment of goals, timelines, budgets, and expected outcomes while driving client satisfaction and business growth. Architecture & Engineering Designing and building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP Developing cloud-native data architectures using GCP services Implementing data models, quality checks, and governance frameworks Optimizing SQL queries and improving pipeline performance Supporting on-premise to cloud data migration initiatives Ensuring platform scalability, monitoring, and reliability Delivery & Collaboration Collaborating with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders Participating in agile delivery processes and sprint execution Contributing to solution design and implementation Supporting CI/CD and DevOps adoption in data engineering workflows Team Leadership Mentoring and guiding engineers and technical leads Supporting hiring, training, and capability development Building GCP data engineering competency within the practice Promoting innovation and modern engineering practices Consulting & Client Engagement Participating in pre-sales, solutioning, and proposal development Leading client workshops and requirement gathering sessions Presenting architecture solutions and transformation roadmaps Acting as a trusted advisor for enterprise data transformation programs Key skills required: Education - Any Bachelor’s or Master’s degree 10-12 years of overall IT experience Minimum 5+ years in GCP Data Engineering projects Experience working in consulting or large-scale enterprise environments Technical Expertise Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Expertise in: BigQuery, Dataflow, Databricks, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer (Airflow) Strong programming skills: Python, SQL Experience with: Spark, Hadoop, or distributed data processing frameworks ETL/ELT frameworks and data warehousing concepts Batch and real-time data processing Familiarity with: Git and version control systems CI/CD pipelines Agile development methodologies Understanding of: Data governance, Data security best practices Good to have: Experience working on Databricks Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code Exposure to Kubernetes and Docker Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) GCP certifications: Professional Data Engineer, Associate Cloud Engineer Delivery of scalable and optimized GCP data solutions Efficient and reliable data pipelines and platforms Strong collaboration with stakeholders and teams Adherence to best practices in engineering, governance, and security
