Role overview
Lead complex asset-development projects from strategic planning and concept development through design, procurement, construction, handover, and operational readiness.
Ensure alignment with approved business plans, development strategies, quality expectations, governance requirements, and Stage Gate approvals.
Key accountabilities
- Lead development activities across the asset lifecycle and drive Stage Gate submissions and governance approvals.
- Manage consultant procurement, contracts, and performance.
- Oversee design quality, budgets, programmes, and risk management.
- Lead engagement with operators, delivery partners, and authorities.
- Support construction, commissioning, and handover.
Responsibilities by phase
- Concept: define briefs, lead workshops, approve concepts, and manage budgets and risks.
- Schematic and detailed design: coordinate consultants, monitor programme and quality, and review design compliance.
- Construction: participate in site reviews, resolve issues, and monitor permits and approvals.
- Handover: support inspections, commissioning, defect management, and operational readiness.
Leadership responsibilities
- Lead development teams, mentor staff, influence stakeholders, and support strategic initiatives across the destination.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, real estate development, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 5–10+ years in large-scale hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, tourism, or destination development projects, with responsibility from concept through delivery.
Competencies
- Technical competencies include development management, design management, commercial management, governance, procurement, risk management, value engineering, and construction interface management.
- Behavioral competencies include strategic thinking, executive communication, leadership, collaboration, negotiation, problem solving, accountability, and results orientation.
Performance measures
KPIs include on-schedule Stage Gate approvals, budget compliance, stakeholder satisfaction, design quality, risk mitigation, and successful handover.
