Manager, Data Science – Risk & Trust

Opportunity

What you will do

• Define analytical strategy across Trust & Risk and turn organizational objectives into measurable priorities.
• Build enterprise-scale benchmarks and frameworks for transaction risk, decision quality, false positives, residual exposure, and return on investment.
• Lead simultaneous high-impact workstreams and connect insights across risk vectors and organizational boundaries.
• Guide senior leaders across Trust, Product, Finance, Engineering, and Policy with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
• Identify and prioritize opportunities across customer experience, marketplace risk, and transaction loss.
• Mentor data scientists and raise analytical standards across the team.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, or master's/PhD with 6+ years, in data science, analytics, quantitative research, or a related field.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into structured strategies with measurable organizational impact.
• Proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and applied quantitative or statistical methods.
• Experience leading multiple complex analytical workstreams and driving sustained outcomes.
• Strong executive communication and ability to make complex analysis actionable.
• Track record influencing senior cross-functional decisions without direct authority.

Preferred experience

• Marketplace trust, fraud, transaction risk, or e-commerce experience is preferred.
• Experience developing enterprise measurement frameworks for loss, decision quality, or risk exposure is preferred.
• Experience at a leading technology or e-commerce company is preferred.
• Familiarity with machine learning, NLP, or LLM/GenAI applications is preferred.
