Role overview

Responsibilities

• Set the data science and marketing science vision, technical standards, and scalable modeling roadmap.
• Unify MMM, incrementality and geo testing, and multi-touch attribution to guide brand and performance investment.
• Build and deploy LTV, cross-sell/upsell propensity, and churn/retention models for product and marketing operations.
• Set production criteria, quantify business value, validate against holdouts or baselines, and ensure reliable pipelines.
• Write, debug, and review production Python, SQL, and dbt models; adopt AI coding tools while validating their output.
• Govern external agencies, measurement partners, and data vendors; assess methods, assumptions, and deliverables.
• Lead and mentor data scientists and advise partners on causal inference, experimentation, and statistical rigor.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Quantitative Marketing, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of progressive data science, marketing science, or advanced analytics experience, with models influencing marketing investment or product growth.
• Deep practical expertise in MMM, incrementality and geo testing, multi-touch attribution, causal inference, and LTV or propensity modeling.
• Advanced Python for production machine-learning and statistical models; strong SQL and dbt on cloud data warehouses, including BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Experience directing external measurement agencies, vendors, or consulting partners and critically evaluating statistical methods.
• Track record leading and developing data scientists while staying hands-on with modeling and code.

Additional qualifications

• A master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline, such as Statistics, Econometrics, Machine Learning, or Applied Mathematics.
• Regular use of AI coding agents, such as Claude Code, with rigorous validation of their output.
• Experience building a marketing or data science practice from scratch in a fast-paced or greenfield environment.
• Experience in fintech, digital banking, online brokerage, or regulated customer data environments.

Compensation

• Base salary range is CAD 140,000–180,000; final compensation depends on experience, skills, and geographic location in Canada.
