About the Role
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic **Bakery Shop Assistant** to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a love for baked goods.
You will assist in the daily operations of the bakery, including serving customers, handling payments, and maintaining a clean and inviting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Assist customers with their purchases and offer product recommendations
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using a POS system
- Restock shelves and display baked goods in an attractive manner
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the shop and workstations
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and pricing of bakery products
- Support bakers with basic food preparation or kitchen tasks as needed
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Previous retail or food service experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly and professional demeanour
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays
- Food hygiene knowledge or certification is a plus
