Your Role

  • We are looking for a motivated junior Mainframe System Engineer to join our squad within the CORE Tribe. As part of a team of approximately 20 mainframe engineers, you will contribute to monitoring and automating mainframe processes and activities. You will also explore ways to modernize the mainframe environment by integrating it with emerging technologies such as AI and container platforms.
  • At a later stage, you will participate in on-call rotations and contribute to weekend activities, including business resilience exercises such as SWAP and RDR.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise to support and troubleshoot infrastructure issues as they arise
  • Monitor and resolve alerts or incidents on the platform
  • Ensure systems are properly operated, maintained, and enhanced through successful implementation of changes
  • Contribute to the development of automation capabilities using Ansible and similar tools by designing and delivering relevant use cases
  • Maintain strong relationships with external suppliers to ensure effective support levels
  • Monitor system usage, capacity, and performance
  • Identify and automate repetitive manual tasks to reduce risk and improve efficiency

  • Your Technical Skills
  • Exposure to mainframe environments is an asset
  • Knowledge of automation practices, including tools such as Ansible, is a plus
