About Scalar Labs
Scalar Labs is Polaris’s applied intelligence studio, building world models, optimization, and agentic systems for energy, compute, food security, healthcare, and resources.

The role
Train, evaluate, and deploy forecasting, estimation, and decision models built on operational data.
What you will do
- Build and train models using operational data from energy, agriculture, and healthcare programs.
- Design evaluations that reflect system use in operation, not only benchmark scores.
- Take models into production and own their performance after deployment.
- Turn operating problems into modeling problems with program teams.
What you bring
- Machine-learning systems you built that reached production.
- Strong Python and experience with one of PyTorch or JAX.
- Experience with time series, probabilistic modeling, or representation learning.
- Comfort with incomplete, messy real-world data.
