Role overview

Logistics operations

• Oversee transportation, warehousing, distribution, order fulfillment, and shipment coordination.
• Develop strategies to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Manage transportation schedules, delivery routes, shipment arrangements, and distribution activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
• Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, and warehouse activity to maintain accurate records and prevent discrepancies.
• Set and monitor KPIs for delivery accuracy, on-time delivery, transportation cost, and warehouse efficiency.
• Analyze performance data, identify problems and improvement opportunities, and prepare reports and cost analyses.
• Manage provider relationships and negotiate service agreements, transportation rates, and delivery terms.

Compliance and team leadership

• Ensure shipment documentation and operations comply with transportation, customs, import/export, trade, workplace safety, and company requirements.
• Maintain shipping documents, delivery orders, invoices, inventory reports, and other logistics records.
• Coordinate supply chain activities with procurement, sales, customer service, finance, and warehouse teams.
• Manage budgets and expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
• Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to reduce delays and operational risks.
• Lead, supervise, and train logistics personnel; establish SOPs for transportation, warehouse management, shipment handling, and inventory control.
• Investigate delays, damaged or lost goods, and customer complaints, then implement corrective action.
• Evaluate logistics systems and technologies and provide performance updates to senior management.

Required qualifications

• Proven experience as a Logistics Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Transportation Manager, or in a similar logistics-related role.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation planning, warehouse management, inventory control, and distribution.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams, coordinating shipments, and overseeing daily operations.
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, freight management, customs procedures, and import/export requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools; ability to interpret data, monitor KPIs, and improve efficiency.
• Good understanding of logistics costs, budgets, and cost optimization.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to transportation, warehousing, and goods handling.

Preferred qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with freight forwarders, transportation companies, warehouse operators, or 3PL providers is advantageous.
• Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or TMS systems is advantageous.
• Experience in international logistics, cross-border transportation, e-commerce fulfillment, or 3PL operations is advantageous.
• Relevant logistics, supply chain, or transportation management certifications are advantageous.
