Logistics Manager

Role overview

Operations and delivery

• Oversee transportation, warehousing, distribution, order fulfillment, shipment coordination, schedules, routes, and delivery activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
• Monitor stock movements and warehouse activity, maintain accurate inventory records, and prevent discrepancies.
• Establish KPIs for delivery accuracy, on-time delivery, costs, and warehouse efficiency; analyze performance and identify improvements.
• Manage service-provider relationships and negotiate agreements, rates, and delivery terms.

Compliance, cost, and team leadership

• Ensure shipment documentation and operations comply with transportation, customs, import/export, and trade requirements.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documents, delivery orders, invoices, inventory reports, and other logistics records.
• Manage budgets and operating expenses, identify cost savings, and develop contingency plans for disruptions and risks.
• Lead, supervise, and train logistics staff; establish procedures for transportation, warehousing, shipment handling, and inventory control.
• Investigate delays, damaged goods, lost shipments, and customer complaints, then implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate logistics systems and technologies; prepare performance reports, cost analyses, and updates for senior management.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners while maintaining safety standards and supporting customer satisfaction.

Required qualifications

• Proven experience as a Logistics Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Transportation Manager, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of logistics operations, transportation planning, warehousing, inventory control, distribution, shipping documentation, freight, customs, and import/export requirements.
• Experience managing logistics teams, coordinating shipments, and overseeing daily operations.
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines; analyze data and KPIs; optimize costs; and maintain accurate records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools; knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.

Preferred and advantageous qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with freight forwarders, transport companies, warehouse operators, and 3PL providers is advantageous.
• Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or TMS systems is advantageous.
• International logistics, cross-border transportation, e-commerce fulfillment, 3PL experience, and relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
