Logistics Manager

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop logistics strategies and oversee daily transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory movement, and delivery activities.
• Plan inbound and outbound shipments; coordinate routes, schedules, fleets, and logistics providers.
• Optimize delivery routes, transportation costs, lead times, and operational efficiency; negotiate rates, service agreements, and delivery terms.
• Manage logistics partners, freight forwarders, transport companies, couriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholder coordination.
• Oversee warehouse receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock transfers between warehouses, suppliers, and customers.
• Ensure proper product handling, storage, packaging, and transportation; resolve delays, damaged goods, shortages, and other logistics problems.
• Develop standard procedures, processes, and controls; track KPIs and analyze data to identify and implement improvements.
• Manage logistics budgets and control transportation, warehousing, labor, and other operational costs while maintaining service quality.
• Ensure compliance with policies, transportation regulations, safety requirements, customs procedures, and industry standards; coordinate import/export documentation and clearance when required.
• Monitor logistics risks and develop contingency plans to reduce supply chain disruptions.
• Maintain shipment, delivery, inventory, and supplier records; prepare performance reports, cost analysis, updates, and recommendations for senior management.
• Lead, manage, train, coach, and develop logistics, warehouse, and transportation team members; stay current on technologies and industry practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Manager, Logistics Executive, Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Manager, or in a related logistics role.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation management, warehousing, distribution, and supply chain processes.
• Experience managing logistics teams, warehouse operations, transportation providers, and external logistics partners.
• Knowledge of shipment planning, delivery scheduling, route optimization, inventory movement, and distribution management.
• Provider negotiation experience is preferred; ERP, WMS, TMS, or other logistics software experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyze KPIs, operational data, costs, and performance reports; understanding of cost control, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
• Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and relevant logistics management tools proficiency is required.
• Import/export, customs, shipping documentation, and international logistics knowledge is an advantage.
• A related bachelor’s degree or diploma is preferred; professional logistics or supply chain certifications are an advantage.
• Strong organization and time management, ability to manage competing deadlines, and ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
