Pay

Average annual earnings: $80,000

Bonus plan: $10,000

Mileage pay: $0.50–$0.58 per mile

Drop-and-hook pay: $47 per stop

Cross-town moves: $25–$60 per move

Detention pay: $20–$25 per hour

Additional pay available for qualifying activities, including hazmat loads, live loads, and other specialized work

Schedule and Home Time

Home daily

Local routes operating in Wisconsin and Illinois

Daily trips to Chicago rail yards

Potential opportunity to transfer to a preferred shift after 6 months

Job Details

Move freight between rail yards and customer locations

100% no-touch freight

Slip-seating operation, meaning trucks are shared between drivers

Tractors must remain at the yard during time off

No smoking inside the truck

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
  • Hazmat endorsement required within 90 days of hire
  • Reimbursement available for obtaining the Hazmat endorsement after hire, with required paperwork
  • Ability to operate safely between rail yards and customer locations
