Role responsibilities
- Manage Linux server updates, security, permissions, users, and SSH access; administer Plesk websites, domains, DNS, SSL certificates, databases, backups, and migrations.
- Audit and clean servers, safely removing obsolete files, oversized logs, accumulated backups, unused services, and unnecessary data.
- Investigate suspicious or compromised files and secure backups before interventions; monitor availability, storage, CPU, RAM, and infrastructure health.
- Configure and optimize Nginx/Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB, and related web services; troubleshoot website and application issues at server and code level.
- Write Bash, Python, and PHP automation; manage multiple sites on dedicated servers and/or VPS environments.
- Implement backup, monitoring, recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures; respond to incidents with minimal downtime.
- Document infrastructure, configurations, procedures, and technical interventions.
Required skills and experience
- Strong professional Linux system administration experience and advanced Plesk knowledge in production environments.
- Strong understanding of web hosting infrastructure and server security; proficiency in Bash, Python, and PHP.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct existing website code; solid experience with Nginx and/or Apache, PHP-FPM, and MySQL/MariaDB.
- Experience optimizing server and web-service performance and managing infrastructure hosting multiple production websites.
- Experience with high-capacity dedicated servers or VPS infrastructure hosting multiple live websites is essential.
- Strong knowledge of backups, migrations, monitoring, incident management, and disaster recovery.
- Methodical approach to audits and cleanups, with emphasis on data protection and security.
- Able to work autonomously, prioritize critical issues, and communicate clearly.
