As Liner Agency Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all liner agency operations for OBT, ensuring smooth vessel calls, efficient cargo handling, and strong alignment with principal requirements.

You will be responsible for driving commercial performance, enhancing customer relationships, and maintaining high standards of service, compliance, and operational excellence.

You will liaise with internal teams, principals, port authorities, agents, and clients to deliver seamless, reliable, and value-driven shipping services across the region.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of managerial experience in shipping, liner agency, or freight forwarding
  • Strong understanding of container shipping operations and documentation
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, or commercial roles
  • Experience working with global carriers is an advantage
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to take accountability for team performance
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Commercial mindset with strong analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Fluent in French and English languages

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary escalation point of contact key liaison for partner’s regional offices and area management.
  • Manage and oversee all liner agency operations ensuring strict adherence to departmental SOPs and achievement of company KPIs across finance, operations, and customer service. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, including port authorities and terminal operators, and represent the company’s interests within shipping line associations and before relevant government authorities.
  • Drive commercial performance by supporting sales activities, analysing market trends, and identifying growth opportunities, and contributing to business development strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, freight forwarders, and strategic partners
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to support strategic commercial decision-making.
  • Act as the main point of contact with the principal, ensuring full compliance with standards, KPIs, and reporting requirements, reporting requirements, and contractual expectations.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the agency team to ensure accountability, performance, and continuous development.
  • Ensure effective local execution of process improvements, system enhancements, and workflow changes introduced by Head Office.
  • Oversee financial coordination, including invoicing, disbursement accounts, payment tracking, and month-end reporting
  • Monitor operational performance, including port call activities and service delivery, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders
  • Review, improve, and implement standard operating procedures across departments to enhance efficiency and consistency
  • Coordinate effectively with port operations, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service execution.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and business updates
  • Represent the company in meetings, partner engagements, and industry events and relevant stakeholder events.
