Full-time, on-site Lifting Supervisor role based in Doha, Qatar.
Oversee project-site lifting operations for safe, efficient, and compliant execution.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate lifting activities; prepare and review lifting plans.
- Inspect lifting equipment and confirm cranes and lifting gear are suitable and certified for intended tasks.
- Conduct risk assessments and brief teams on safe work methods and site-specific hazards.
- Monitor lifts, liaise with site management, contractors, and operators, and stop work when unsafe conditions arise.
- Maintain records, support incident investigations, and improve lifting practices and safety culture.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience supervising lifting operations on construction, industrial, or energy-sector projects.
- Strong knowledge of crane and rigging practices.
- Proficiency preparing and reviewing lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements for routine and critical lifts.
- Understanding of applicable international and local lifting and hoisting safety regulations and standards.
- Ability to verify equipment certifications, load charts, and maintenance records and identify unsafe conditions or non-compliance.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with operators, riggers, engineers, and site management.
- Relevant technical qualification or certification in lifting operations, rigging, or crane supervision.
- Ability to deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings and support incident reporting and investigation.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records, preparing reports, and using project documentation systems.
- Construction or industrial work-environment familiarity is an advantage.
