Requirements

• Qualifications
• The Y offers Free Lifeguard Certification Classes
• Ability to Swim and Pass the Prerequisite Test
• 2 minute water tread without use of hands
• 10 lb brick recovery from the deep end
• 100 yards or 200 yards swim
• Practical and Written Test
• This is a Busy Pool and requires a commitment to Safety
• Lifeguard for Outdoor Community Pool ;
• Certification is required
• The Old Colony YMCA offers Free Lifeguard Training
• Ability to swim and pass a Pre Requisite Test:

• 10 lb brick recovery from the deep end of the Pool
• There is also a written and practical test

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard for Outdoor Community Pool
• The Pool operates 7 days per week , so the work schedule includes Saturday and Sunday
• The Main Operations of the Pool is 5:00am - 8:30pm weekdays, 7:00am - 5:00pm weekends
• Old Colony YMCA Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe environment that promotes ideal guest service in a Family Friendly environment by using the Test, Mark, Protect Protocols
