Role overview

Pool safety and operations

• Supervise patrons, provide water-safety advice, and carry out swift water rescues when needed.
• Monitor pool circulation and chemical levels to required standards; check chemicals twice daily and submit a report to the health and safety officer.
• Vacuum and clean the pool, backwash sand filters, and deep-clean pool gutters monthly.
• Identify and report hazards, maintenance needs, accidents, and incidents promptly.
• Maintain lifeguard equipment and follow operating procedures and emergency action plans.

Guest service and emergency response

• Provide prompt, caring, professional assistance to guests and anticipate their needs.
• Give immediate first aid for injury or trauma and participate in rescue drills and lifeguard training.
• Coordinate rescue management, ongoing supervision, and incident communications; respond to incidents within 20 seconds.

Candidate profile

• NPLQ or NBLQ qualification from RLSS UK Lifesaving is required.
• Good oral and written English communication skills are required.
• Maintain fitness meeting RLSS pool lifeguard timed-swim requirements.
• Able to work shifts, work under pressure, and work independently with people from varied backgrounds.
• Good general health, clear speech, energy, versatility, and a well-presented manner are expected.

Other duties and standards

• Attend departmental and hotel training, complete monthly training targets, and maintain personal training records.
• Follow fire, health, safety, UAE legal, and company requirements; maintain confidentiality and wear the correct uniform.
• Support colleagues and assist elsewhere in the hotel in response to business and client needs.
