Role overview

Design and technical work

• Study and assess drawings, plans, specifications, and other project documents.
• Initiate and ensure civil engineering standards in drawings and plans, including geotechnical, topographic, wind, and hydrology analyses.
• Participate in design and constructability reviews, including layout and 30%, 60%, and 90% reviews.
• Provide civil engineering expertise to help ensure facilities are safe to construct.
• Carry out technical and feasibility civil studies.

Construction and quality

• Manage work fronts and contractor activities at site, including inspections, for safe completion to schedule.
• Ensure company processes, Control of Works procedures, and HSE requirements are followed at project sites.
• Review and approve Construction Work Packs and Execution Plans.
• Coordinate with project SPA, Engineering, Operations, and HSE teams to resolve site issues.
• Inspect construction activities for conformance with AFC drawings and specifications.
• Lead QA/QC activities and supervise company-hired civil QA/QC inspectors.
• Participate in or lead site incident investigations; support site reports and provide construction input.
• Review and approve subcontractor variation orders related to civil works.

Qualifications

• The role is titled Licensed Civil Engineer.
• Thorough knowledge of international codes, standards, procedures, and specifications is required.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Two years of civil engineering experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with creating construction plans using AutoCAD or Revit.

Employment and pay

• Part-time position.
• Pay is up to AED 4,000 per month.

Workplace

• Work is in person.
