Overview
- Principal accountabilities of the position
- Provide day-to-day legal support, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
- Draft, amend and review a broad range of commercial and legal agreements to support business operations.
- Negotiate agreements with third parties, ensuring commercially sound outcomes while mitigating legal risk.
- Manage document execution processes, ensuring contracts are properly signed, recorded, and filed in line with internal governance standards.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions where specialist advice is required.
- Conduct basic legal research and provide clear, practical summaries to support decision-making.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (Compliance, Risk, HR, Finance, Marketing and Operations) to ensure legal considerations are embedded into business activities.
- Identify legal risks and escalate where necessary, providing pragmatic and business-focused solutions.
- Specific assignments/tasks of the position
- Draft, review and amend agreements including NDAs, service agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and client-facing documentation.
- Support negotiation of contracts with third parties (e.g. service providers, partners, affiliates), including tracking changes and managing version control.
- Handle end-to-end document execution, including coordinating signatures, maintaining records, and ensuring proper filing within central repositories.
- Maintain and organise legal documentation, ensuring easy accessibility and compliance with audit requirements.
- Liaise with external counsel to obtain legal advice, coordinate instructions, and manage timelines and deliverables.
- Conduct legal research on regulatory requirements, licensing obligations, and jurisdiction-specific considerations.
- Assist with the review of marketing materials and business initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support internal teams by providing guidance on contractual terms, risks, and obligations.
- Assist with corporate governance tasks, including preparation of basic resolutions and maintenance of statutory records.
- Support dispute-related matters by gathering documentation and coordinating with relevant internal and external parties.
