As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and business-minded **Legal Counsel** to oversee legal affairs, protect company interests, and support strategic business operations.
Position Overview
The Legal Counsel will serve as the company's primary legal advisor, providing guidance on commercial contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, employment matters, corporate governance, and risk management.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, business development teams, and operational departments to ensure legal compliance while supporting company growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage client agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and service contracts
- Provide legal advice on advertising, marketing, media, intellectual property, and commercial law matters
- Protect and manage the company's intellectual property rights, trademarks, copyrights, and brand assets
- Ensure compliance with advertising regulations, consumer protection laws, privacy requirements, and industry standards
- Advise management on corporate governance, legal risk management, and business strategy
- Manage legal disputes, claims, litigation, and dispute resolution matters
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities as required
- Develop and maintain compliance programs, legal policies, and internal procedures
- Support mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and business expansion initiatives
- Provide guidance on employment law matters and workplace policies
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the advertising and marketing industry
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD, LLB, or equivalent law degree) from an accredited institution
- Licensed and in good standing with the applicable legal authority or bar association
- Minimum 5+ years of legal experience in corporate, commercial, media, advertising, intellectual property, or technology law
- Strong knowledge of contract law, intellectual property law, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex legal matters effectively
- High standards of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within advertising agencies, marketing firms, media organizations, technology companies, or creative industries
- Expertise in trademark, copyright, licensing, and intellectual property protection
- Familiarity with digital advertising regulations, data privacy laws, and social media compliance
- Previous in-house counsel experience is considered an asset
