About This Role
Role Summary
The Legal Contracts Manager will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a broad range of commercial and telecommunications agreements across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires strong experience in telecom, technology, and international commercial contracts, with particular focus on MVNO operations, wholesale agreements, roaming, interconnect, SaaS, vendor management, and regulatory alignment.
The ideal candidate combines strong legal drafting skills with commercial awareness and the ability to work cross-functionally with business, technical, finance, procurement, and regulatory teams.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Drafting & Negotiation
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage complex commercial agreements including:
- MVNO and MNO partnership agreements
- Wholesale telecom agreements
- Roaming and interconnect agreements
- SMS, A2P, voice, and messaging agreements
- SaaS, cloud, and technology licensing agreements
- Vendor, reseller, and distribution agreements
- Data processing and privacy agreements
- NDAs, SLAs, and procurement contracts
- Lead contract negotiations with international carriers, aggregators, technology providers, and enterprise customers.
- Ensure contractual protections around liability, indemnities, service levels, data privacy, IP rights, cybersecurity, and regulatory obligations.
Legal & Regulatory Support
- Support legal and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with external counsel on local law requirements, licensing, telecom regulations, and dispute matters.
- Monitor developments in telecom, privacy, consumer protection, and digital communications regulations.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk and legal implications.
Contract Lifecycle Management
- Maintain and improve contract management processes and templates.
- Track key contractual obligations, renewals, termination rights, and compliance deadlines.
- Support implementation and optimization of CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) systems.
- Develop internal contracting policies, approval workflows, and governance procedures.
Business Partnership
- Partner with Sales, Procurement, Product, Technology, Finance, and Operations teams to support commercial initiatives.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance while balancing risk and commercial objectives.
- Support RFPs, strategic partnerships, and new market launches.
Risk Management & Dispute Support
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks.
- Assist with pre-litigation disputes, claims management, and settlement negotiations.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
- Qualified lawyer or legal professional preferred.
- 5–10+ years of experience in commercial contracts, telecommunications, technology, or MVNO environments.
- Strong experience negotiating international telecom and technology agreements.
- Knowledge of:
- MVNO business models
- Roaming and interconnect structures
- Data privacy regulations (GDPR and related frameworks)
- Telecom regulatory environments
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience working with multinational telecom operators or digital connectivity providers.
- Familiarity with eSIM, IoT, CPaaS, fintech, or digital services ecosystems.
- Experience with CLM platforms and legal operations processes.
- Additional language skills are an advantage.
